Above you can see the four key stages of treating rising damp within a Victorian house with a bay window.
The first process is to identify the cause of the damp and in this case it was due to a defective damp proof course.
The second process is to remove the defective plaster /render on the walls back to bare brick work to 1 metre in height followed by the drilling and injecting of a re-newed damp froof course as the lowest point possible above 15cm external ground levels.
The third picture shows the finished sand/cement render with waterproofer on the wals. You will also note that there is a strip of wall paper removed above the works- this is to allow for a seamless join once finished plastered.
The final stage from what you can see is finished work once the application of a two coat multi finish plaster set has dried. Should the original skirting board be in a salvageable condition then this will be fitted with an adhesive so as not to penetrate the renewed render with and screws etc.
The pictures that you can see above were taken from a basement conversion in Balham London SW12 in October 2017. The basement was already there although the client wanted an increased finished head room height of about 5 inches.
This was dug out and from the top picture you can see the new concrete slab
All internal pipes including the gas were rerouted
The walls were then coated with a SIKA 1 multi coat render application
The false walls, electrics and insulation were built and amended as necessary
A new staircase was fitted
Finally and the walls were plaster boarded and finished plastered prior to painting
This job approximatley 4 weeks to complete

Dry rot is one of those problems which most home owners will not find out about until its too late.
Usually as a reult of floor coverings such as floor boards, carpet etc the only tale tale signs could be a springyness when walking on the effected area.
The pictures above were taken from a project in Tooting SW17 in July 2016.
We opened up the floor to find the joists in a complete state of disrepair.
Once all the defective wood was removed we rebuilt sleeper walls to support the new joists.
A new airbrick to the subfloor was installed to allow for greater ventilation
When all the joists and floorboards are fitted in place the whole room including the underneath and above was sprayed with a duel purpose dry rot and woodworm product.
Once dry the top part of the boards are ready to be varnished.
The above pictures show the installation of helibar to brack cracks with an external wall.
You may have recently obatined a report from a structrual engineer where they have stipulated the cracks be fixed with helibar
The photos were taken in the summer of 2015 in Richmond Surrey and shown the process of cutting out and incerting the expocy resin and helibar.
Once complete the resin is covered with a sand and cement mortar.
Woodworm can be identified with small holes as sahown on the top picture

Once identifed all areas need to be vacummed and free of dust with any rotten wood cut out and replaced
When complete the areas identifed will then be sprayed by one of our technicians.
